Join us for an interactive workshop with artist Elisabeth Higgins O’Connor. For Jewish Folktales Retold: Artist as Maggid, O’Connor re-imagines the Golem, a supernatural being of great power, made of mud and stone, created to protect Jews from their persecutors. O’Connor makes large-scale anthropomorphic creatures out of detritus, like discarded furniture parts, wire, cardboard, fabrics and paper. For this workshop, teens will create fantastical sculptures using unconventional materials inspired by O’Connor’s process.
Free for teens. All supplies, snacks, and drinks provided. Limited space, register at firstname.lastname@example.org.
